Buttons, Bows and Bling!

The theme for this weeks challenge over at Simon Says Challenge is Buttons, Bows and Bling! I got my order in from Simon Says Stamp's superstore, and so I of course used one of my purchases from that order on my project today. Here's my entry for the challenge:

I used a kraft cardstock for my cardbase, which measures 10,5 by 10,5 cm folded. I masked off the outer edges of the cardfront, and stamped the rest of the cardbase with a background stamp by Hero Arts called Dots and Flowers, using versamark ink. After stamping, I outlined the stamped section using my versamarker.
I put a piece of brown cardstock through my crimper, and used some twine to accent the crimped piece. I cut a piece of kraft cardstock with an oval spellbinder-die, and embossed it too. For the sentiment, I handwrote arigato, which means thanks in Japanese. I colored the two small buttons on either side of the sentiment purple (the were originally white). I used some pigment ink and clear embossingpowder to color and glaze them. I threaded them with some green sewing-thread, and stuck them on the sentiment-piece using gluedots. The oval and the sentiment-piece is mounted onto the card using foam adhesive.
The doll is stamped with a stamp from a Hero Art stamp set called four dolls (which is from the package I recieved yesterday). I stamped the doll twice, on both white cardstock and on green patterned paper. On the white piece I colored in the face with promarkers, and cut out the head. From the green paper I cut out the body, and I paper-pieced them together. I tied a narrow piece of purple ribbon into a bow, and glued it onto the dolls hair with some Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue. I also blinged up the dolls outfit with a purple glitterpen. The doll is adhered to the oval using foam adhesive.
I had so much fun making this card, I really like the four dolls stamp set =) To see the set on Hero Arts' site, click here.
That's it for the details on this card. Thanks for stopping by!
