New blog header =)

Hi everyone

Just a quick blog update today =) A couple of days ago, I changed some of the graphics here on my blog. The new header, background piece and my new blogger profile picture (which is what shows up when I comment and stuff), were all inspired by my last name. The name is an old family name, and translated to English is means (about) "front mountain". I have been told it came from where the family lived (way back in the old days), somewhere in front of a mountain. So, I made some simple mountain-like shapes, added some color with "snowy tops" in pink and orange, as well as some nice turquoise, and put some of my owls on there too. I hope you like the change =)

Solid Robot Card

Today I'm sharing a card and a technique video! I am entering the card into the following challenges:

Paper Smooches SPARKS - Picture Perfect Challenge (inspiration picture)

First up I have a video, showing how I made the solid robot shape using a line art robot stamp:

And here are pictures of the finished card:

(the grey cardstock is actually much more of a warm grey color irl. It's more like the the warm grey in the SPARKS inspiration picture above =)

After cutting the robot out, I decided it needed to have a slightly brighter yellow color. So I colored overtop of the yellow cardstock with a light yellow Copic marker. That gave it a much better color, that worked better with the grey cardstock I had chosen for the card. I white embossed the sentiment, adhered the robot next to it, and adhered the whole thing onto a white cardbase. I think it turned out quite graphic and cool =)

Christmas Cupcake Card

Today I am sharing a mini card I made to enter into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Dies and/or Punches (I used a die to get the perfect banner edges on the green on the sentiment strip)

Hero Arts blog - October contest, Holiday Cardmaking

I stamped the cupcake with brown and red Memento ink, and colored it in using Copic markers. I also colored overtop of some of the stamped lines that are more solid, like the brown swirls in the frosting, to give them a richer color. For the flower, I colored overtop of the bottom one with a green marker, after it had been stamped with brown Memento ink. That gave the bottom layer a dark greenish-brown color. I then stamped the flower again on a scrap piece of paper with red Memmento ink, cut it out, and cut the tips of the petals into a pointed shape to look like a poinsettia. I then added three mini pearls in the center of the flower. For the sentiment, I used a stamp from a Deasy Designs set, as I don't have any Hero Arts christmas sentiment stamps. I stamped it in brown, cut it out, and backed each side with a diecut banner edge in green. Everything was adhered to a small white cardbase using foam adhesive.

Christmas Stripe Card

I have a giveaway going on right now! Here's a small picture of the prize:

Hi everyone!

Since I wasn't able to make any cards for WCMD yesterday, I decided to make a card today instead. I also decided to play along in some challenges:

Sweet Stamp Shop - Sweet Saturday Challenge 4 (sketch)

(Yeah, I just now noticed that there is a designated place for the sentiment on this sketch. Ooops!)

Ellen Hutson - WCMD 2012 Challenge 1

I will also be linking up this card here:

The Crafts Meow blog

Moxie Fab World - Christmas Card category

Here's the card I made:

A nice and simple card, this one. I was very inspired by the sketch, but had to make the card a bit smaller then standard size while working at it to make it work better with where I placed the tape and the sentiment+image piece. I also had some serious issues with the green striped tape. The tape is not good quality like the original mt tape, because the adhesive sticks to the top side of the tape (the patterned side). The tape is from Love my tapes, and it's linked below (to where it's sold on Simon Says). If you're thinking of bying that particular tape, you may want to reconsider. But all in all, I am happy with how the card turned out =)

Happy World Cardmaking Day

Hi everyone =)

Today is World Cardmaking Day, and I wanted to do something special to celebrate. I will not actively be taking part in all the festivites online today, as I am busy with a full day of garden work and other things with my family. We are having what we call in norwegian a dugnad, which basically means that people get together to work on a project as a group. I guess it's kind of like how the Amish people sometimes get together for a barn-raising, and everyone helps out. Well, enough about that. Let's get on to the cardmaking stuff =)

To celebrate World Cardmaking Day, I am doing a giveaway for my followers! Here's the prize I'll be giving away to one lucky winner:

And some closeups:

As you can probably see, it's a mix of new things and older things. There's ric rac I picked up on sale at Panduro (scandinavian craft store chain), and beautiful big bling in pink and blue I picked up there too. There's two old mini stamps from Imaginisce, and one newer stamp from Lawn Fawn (Flying By). There's also a Memento dew drop in the color "Pear Tart", and a copy of the July/August PaperCrafts magazine =)
You can do one or more of the following, to enter into this giveaway:
- Be a subscriber to my blog, leave one comment
- Be a subscriber to my YouTube channel, leave one comment
- Put the picture of my giveaway on your blog with a link back to this blogpost, leave one comment
- Tweet about this giveaway. Make sure to add @Legojenta so that I can see your tweet, and to add a link back to this blogpost. Feel free to copy and use this example tweet: Marie @Legojenta is having a giveaway to celebrate World Cardmaking Day! Check it out and see how you can enter here:

The giveaway will end on October 11th, at 11:59 my time. I will soon thereafter draw at random the winner, and publish it here on my blog. The winner will then have to email me to claim their prize.

I hope you will have a wonderful, crafty and inspiring day!

Neon Owl Tag

Today I have a tag to share. I made this tag to enter into the following challenges:

Paper Smooches SPARKS - Trend Watch Challenge October 1-7

Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes

Here's the tag I made

I purchased some neon tape yesterday, and wanted to test it out on this tag. I stamped the owl in black ink, and "colored" the owl's beak with the orange neon tape. I then added pieces of neon tape to the outside of the white piece of paper. I also added a little blue cardstock to each edge of the image piece. I then diecut a tag, added black embroidery floss, and adhered the image on it.
