Happy Birthday Britta!

Today is Britta Swiderski's birthday, and we are celebrating with a surprise blog hop! Britta, I hope you will enjoy seeing the cards all these fabulous designers have made for you today =)

Here's the complete list of designers participating in today's hop:
Marie Forberg -  (that's me =)
Chari Moss -
Chunyuan Wu -
Danielle Walls -
Jennifer Rzasa -
Kelly Marie Alvarez -
Stephanie Britt -

So, here's the card I made for you, Britta:

I decided to make a fabulous hot pink cake, by coloring white cardstock with the pink neon HA ink. I stamped the cake image overtop with black ink, and a flower onto some aqua cardstock. I colored in the ribbons on the cake image with a black marker, and cut both image out. I then added a tiny diecut white circle in the middle of the flower. I also bent up the petals of the flower to add some dimension. I adhered the flower onto the cake, and the cake onto a white cardbase. I finished off the card by stamping the sentiment, and adding three tiny dots on each side using a black marker.

Next stop on the hop is the talented Chari Moss. I am sure she will have something fabulous to share!
So, Britta, I hope you will enjoy hopping along today! And I hope you will have an awesome birthday, with lots of fun and celebration =)

I am also entering this card into the Keen on Neon Challenge in the Moxie Fab World =)

Blog Survey + Giveaway =)

Hi everyone

So, I have been thinking about what to do in the future with my blog. I have been posting less on my blog these last couple of months, after starting my full time job in August. I just haven't had as much energy to spend on crafting, and blogging is sort of a bi-product of my crafting. So, I have been thinking about how to get back to crafting and blogging more again. And I want to try and do things with my blog that you, my readers, will like too!

Sooo, I've made a short survey, to try and find out what you like, or don't like as much, about my blog. I hope you will be able to answer the survey, and with that give me a little insight into your thoughts about my blog =)
And, to give you a little incentive to complete my survey, I have decided to offer a giveaway! Every person who completes the survey, and comments on this post letting me know that they've done so, will be entered into the giveaway. What's the prize, you ask? Well, it's a secret! But I can tell you, it's something (I think) every papercrafter will love =)

The survey will close on December 11th, and so that's the deadline for the giveaway too. I will be back on my blog shortly thereafter to announce the winner. Please make sure to come back to see if the winner is you!

Here's my quick survey. I hope you will take some time to answer =)

Juggling Penguin Card

This is the third post I've posted today. Please click here to see my Glitter Unicorn Card, or here to see my Fishing Bear Card =)

Here's the third card I made to enter into Lawn Fawn's CHA Winter 2013 contest:

I stamped the penguin and sentiment in black ink, and added some lines with a black marker to ground them. I colored in the penguin with copics. I stamped the snowflakes in different colors of blue memento ink, some of the colors I stamped off first to make them lighter. I also added a few tiny lines between the snowflakes using a grey marker. I rounded the top two corners of the image piece, and adhered it onto a blue cardbase.

Glitter Unicorn Card

Today I am sharing a card I made to enter into Lawn Fawn's current contest, where they are looking for cards to feature in their catalog and CHA booth. This is the first card I made to enter into the challenge =)

The unicorn is glittery, and I also shot this quick video to show how beautifully the glitter sparkles. Oh, and the cardstock is a much lighter/starker white in real life, I just can't capture the exact color with my camera. I used Papertrey Ink's white cardstock, and if you've ever seen that yourself, you know how bright white it is =) I could probably shoot a better picture using daylight from a window, should it be needed. But for now I'll stick to what I've got.

I used versamark, sticky stuff embossing powder (glue-like embossingpowder) and magenta/purple-ish glitter to create the unicorn. The glitter was something I had in my stash, but I don't know what manufacturer it's from, unfortunantely. The sentiment was stamped in versafine black ink =)

Fishing Bear Card

Here's the second card I made to enter into Lawn Fawn's current contest, where they're looking for cards to feature in their catalog and CHA booth.

I stamped the bear onto a piece of white cardstock, and colored him in. I then stamped+colored+cut out a fish on a seperate piece of lighter cardstock. I cut a slit on the line of the bear's mouth, and inserted the fish into the slit. I bent/curved the fish a bit, to make it look more like it was twitching in the bear's mouth, just having been caught =) I then stamped the sentiment next to the bear, and adhered the panel onto a dark green cardbase. For this card, I used Bazzill's white cardstock, which is a little bit more of an offwhite, as supposed to the PTI white cardstock that I usually use. The PTI is a stark/bright white, but I thought the "softer" white of the Bazzill would be better suited for the more rustic/outdoors theme of this card =)
