Young Crafters Unite - Challenge #12

Hi everyone

Today I have my card for the new YCU challenge to share with you. Please go check it out on the YCU blog! The challenge this time is to use buttons!

Here's my card for this challenge:

I diecut different button shapes out of colored cardstock, and adhered them to a white panel. I rounded the top corner of the white panel, and added some grey ink with a sponge to the edges. I stamped my Norwegian sentiment (it says happy birthday) onto s small white strip, cut a banner edge on one side, and sponged that with grey ink as well. I adhered the sentiment strip over the buttons with foam adhesive, and added the full white panel to a black cardbase.

Now, I'f you haven't checked out this challenge over at the YCU blog, please use this link to get there:

Neon Bird Card

Hi everyone

Today I have another neon card to share. I was still inspired by my little neon post it notes, and wanted to do something else with them then I did the first time =) If you haven't seen my first neon card, you can see it here.

This card was also made to enter into the following challenges:

Hero Arts Blog - July challenge

CAS-ual Fridays - CFC62

Moxie Fab World - Birthday Card Challenge

A Blog Named Hero - Inspired by Hero Arts Artists (I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire, specifically this card she made with lots of white space and bright colors)

Here's my card:

I used the neon post its again, but this time I cut them into thinner strips. I adhered them onto some scrap white paper, and diecut a bird image.

For my card, I stamped the sentiment, drew the straight line with a pen, and adhered the diecut bird onto a white piece of cardstock. I then adhered the white piece onto a black cardbase. I just love how the black cardbase behind the white layer makes the sentiment, line and also the colorful bird just pop =)

I am also entering this card into the Keen on Neon Challenge in the Moxie Fab World =)

My atg decoration

Hi everyone

Today I have something a bit different then the usual card to share. Today I wanted to share how I decorated my pink atg gun, and also share some templates I've made for the decoration base piece. This is how my atg gun looks:

The decoration base piece is the black piece with the banner on it, that covers up the logo on my atg gun. I kept it clean and simple, because that's what I like =) The writing is actually my name (Marie) in japanese, which a friend taght me how to write. If I were to take this to crops and such, I would probably change it to say my name in normal letters =) Anyways, I made this decoration a while back, and at that time I used one particular corner rounder punch to made the rounded edges. But soon after, I replaced that punch with the corner chomper punches. So, I decided to make a digital template for the base for the decoration to keep on hand. Who knows when I might want to change the decoration, right? So that's what I did. And, today, I have decided to share the template with all of you =)

The template is for cutting out the base decoration piece to cover up the logo on the pink atg gun. I made two versions of the shape, one solid shape and one outlined shape. That way, you can print the shape and hand cut it with the lined version, or you can use the solid shape to create a cutting file for your digital diecutter. To give you the option of downloading the files to your computer, I have for the first time ever tried using another service to make it happen. Hopefully it will work out alright =) You can click on any of these links to go to the site where you can download the file:

Download solid image only
Download lined image only

Download letter sized file with both shapes
Download A4 sized file with both shapes

After getting to the page using one of the links above, choose "Actions" and "Download photo". If you have any problems with this, please let me know, and I will try to help you as best as I can =)

I hope this will be helpful to you if you own a pink atg gun, and want to cover up that logo with something =) If you use my template, I'd love to see how your atg turns out! Feel free to leave me a link to your decorated atg in the comment section of this blogpost =)

Fish Christmas Card

Hi everyone

Today I have a card to share, that I made to enter into the current challenge over at The Alley Way Stamps blog. The challenge is this picture:

I was inspired by the Christmas theme, as well as the little picture on the right side with the white, blue and pink. Here's the card I made:
(Sorry about the last photo here being so bad. I just wanted to capture the glitter =)

I stamped the fish, and added a few lines with my memento marker to make his light look like a christmas tree light. I colored it with copics, added some clear glitter/shimmer to the light, and cut it out. I diecut pink cardstock, adhered the fish and sentiment strip, and adhered it to a white cardbase using foam adhesive. I finished the card off by adding black lines along the edges of the cardbase.

Bee Mini Card

Hi everyone

Quick post today, sharing a mini card I made for the current Lawnscaping challenge

I almost forgot about this challenge, and the deadline is soon! Here's the card I made:

(I am sorry about the bad photos. The cardbase is really bright white. I don't know what went wrong when I shot these)

I paper pieced the bee and pinwheel and diecut the grass. I stamped the clouds, bee's trail and sentiment right onto the cardbase, and adhered the bee and top part of pinwheel with foam adhesive. I also added some dots to the sentiment with a black marker.

Neon Congrats Card

Hi everyone

Today I have a card to share, and it's all about neon! Hero Arts just released three neon colored inks, and one of the challenges on their blog this month is to use this neon colored color combination:

(Click on the graphic to go directly to this months challenge)

I don't have the neon inks, so I was thinking about what I did have that could work. I checked if I had highlighters in all three colors, but no such luck. Then I tried using some copic markers in "normal" yellow, orange and pink colors, which was a close match, but not perfect. They didn't have the neon glow I was looking for. When I was about ready to give it a rest for the day, I coincidentally glanced over some mini post its in neon colors I had lying around. They turned out to be perfect for a CAS card =)

I simply took the three colors of post its, and adhered them side to side on a strip of white cardstock. I cut off the tops of the post its, which had no glue on them, as well as the excess on the right and left sides. I stamped my sentiment (from HA stamp set) onto another strip of white cardstock, cut banner edges on it, and adhered it to the neon strip. I adhered that whole piece onto a white cardbase using foam adhesive. The finished card is smaller then a regular card, it is 3 1/2" by 4 3/4".

I am also entering this card into the Keen on Neon Challenge in the Moxie Fab World =)
