A few challenge entries...

... I wanted to share, from the first 7 or less challenge =) We are about halfway into the challenge today, I can't believe how time really flies by these days! Anyways, I wanted to put a spotlight on some of the cards and people that have entered so far, to say thank you for entering and supporting this new challenge =) Oh, and because they should be proud that they took on this serious challenge (believe me, I know this challenge can be difficult) and made such great cards with limited supplies!
Okay, enough rambling, here are a few of the entries I've gotten so far for the first 7 or less challenge:

Mia did a fabulous job here, I could hardly believe she only used 7 or less products when I first laid my eyes on this card, but she really did! I love the masculine color scheme on this card, and the excellent execution of all the elements on it =) Check out her blogpost here.

Christine made a card which I think is an absolute beauty. It's based on a great layout, and she chose perfect colors and patterns to compliment the layout =) I love the soft patterned paper behind the rather bold image of the red thermometer, and the arrows pointing in are so fun! Check out her blogpost here.

Tracy made this card, which really shows that the limit of 7 or less products doesn't have to limit you in special techniques to use on your card. She did dry embossing and paper piecing, as well as stamping and copic coloring. All using just 7 products! All those touches add a wonderful layered, yet uncluttered feel to the card =) Check out her blogpost here.

Each of the pictures links to the person's blog post for their card =)

I also wanted to remind everyone to please read all the rules for the challenge, and make sure you follow them. I see that a few people have not added the challenge graphic/badge to their blogpost, and if that's not in place there before the end of the challenge period, they will not be considered for the winning spot. All the challenge rules must be followed to be considered for the winning spot and great prize.

Thanks to everyone who has entered so far! I look forward to (hopefully) seeing more entries soon too =)

Fun Little Frog Tag

Hi everyone

This will be a quick post, I just wanted to share a small tag I made, using a technique I learnt in class (plus some regular stamping for the crown)

Here's the tag I made, with the cute frog from Paper Smooches:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Be sure and check out the first 7 or less challenge, if you haven't done so already =)

Penguin Slider Card

Hi everyone

Today is another card I made, inspired by a card from class =)

I made a this fun interactive pull-slider card:

I stamped the penguin and sentiment on white cardstock, and cut out the penguin's belly. I then made a tiny dot print on white cardstock using copic markers, and cut out a small tie shape. I made a slider mechanism, adhered the tie onto it, and put it behind the cutout belly. I then rounded one corner, and attached the full piece to a dark turquiose cardbase =)

Have you checked out the first 7 or less challenge, sponsored by Lawn Fawn, yet? I encourage you to do so, and play along if you'd like. It is indeed challenging, but also really fun to make a card using only 7 or less products =)

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

7 or less - Challenge 1

Today is a very special day… It’s the day to start the first 7 or less challenge!

When I started up my 7 or less video series a short while back, I knew I wanted to show you the possibilities you have with a limited number of supplies. Each time I’ve created a video for the 7 or less series, I have found it to be a real challenge, but still, completely doable. So, I started thinking that it would be fun to see how other cardmakers would solve the same product constraint challenge, and still make something awesome! And so, the 7 or less challenge was born!

I am excited to see what you, yes I mean YOU, can create using only 7 or less supplies =) Oh, and before you run away scared, please check my lists of what counts as one product and what is not included in the count, below. If you have any questions, leave them for me in the comment section on this blog post. I will answer all questions left there =)

Challenge Theme
This challenge does not have a theme, you can create whatever kind of card you’d like, as long as you only use 7 or less products!

Sponsor

This challenge is sponsored by the amazing Lawn Fawn. I am so excited about having them sponsor this first challenge! Lawn Fawn has wonderful high quality stamps, papers, stickers, twine and dies in their product line, so lots of goodness to check out on their website =)

So, before I tell you more details on how to enter the challenge, here’s a video I shot while making my card for this challenge:

And here is a picture of the finished card:

 (Stamps by Lawn Fawn)

I love the fun look of the line art stamps stamped in colored ink! I think this shows you don't always have to get your copics, pencils or watercolors out, just because you want to use a line art stamp like this cute seal and star =)
